Who’s That Girl?
Yes, she was THAT girl. THAT girl in the fabulous Calvin Klein dress. Not only was she a knockout on the red carpet that night but she was a nominated for Best Actress in the movie, “Winter’s Bone“; her first breakout role. She went on to play Mystique, in “X-Men First Class.”
Later that year, she landed the role of a lifetime. Lawrence was cast as “Katniss Evergreen” in the big-screen adaptation of the best selling series, “The Hunger Games,” which became one of the highest grossing movies ever at the box office. “The Hunger Games” earned $407 million dollars, no big deal. Currently, there are three other “Hunger Games” sequels in the works.
Suddenly overnight, Jennifer Lawrence went from Indie actress to A-List actress.
And landed on the Best Dressed List.

But unlike many of her fellow actors and actresses, Jennifer has a different attitude when it comes to body image. She told Elle magazine, “I eat like a caveman, I’ll be the only actress who doesn’t have anorexia rumors.” Lawrence also says, “In Hollywood, I’m obese. I’m considered a fat actress. I’m Val Kilmer in the one picture on the beach.
Elle Magazine‘s Maggie Bullock who interviewed Lawrence, writes, “This is a whole new kind of role model, the 5.0 version, who heads into the Hollywood maelstrom wiser than her reckless forebears, knowing from the get-go that every decision she makes will have a ripple effect.
How refreshing! An actress who refuses to give in to the “Hollywood” stereotype that “thin is in.” Lawrence is a true role model, not only to her “Hunger Game” fans but to girls and young women everywhere. Spread that message Jennifer; you don’t know how many lives you will affect.
